I'm no expert in politics, sociology or any of that garbage but I can't help thinking that money we have used in the killing of thousands of innocent Iraqis and the invasion of their country could have been better spent on, oh I don't know, medicine, education, famine relief, stem-cell research or some other really cool stuff.

Almost any use would be better because it would probably not be so actively self-harming. Letting it sit somewhere and accrue interest would have even been better.

Tax dollars are supposed to be spent to maintain and improve the life of citizens. The government will argue that the dollars spent in Iraq and Afghanistan are to protect Americans. There are intelligent people on both sides of this issue. My position is that time will tell. I sure hope we aren't throwing all this money down a rat hole.

There are so many social problems our country has: bad health care, unemployment, lots of drug users in jail instead of rehab while violent criminals get paroled, people are starving, people are homeless ... the list can go on and on. And he spends billions, if not trillions, on a war that we can never win. It's ridiculous.
