They should come home. We have no idea how bad things are over there -- our media don't dwell on the ugly stories. The best thing for everyone would be to bring them home.

Although I absolutely believe that we were hoodwinked into this war, we cannot suddenly leave Iraq or Afghanistan without achieving some level of stability. Having started this thing, we have a moral obligation to leave these countries in better condition than when we came.

Unfortunately, if we do the right thing and pull them out, it immediately sends the enemies of our country that we'll tuck and run at the first sign of trouble. Can't have that, or Americans worldwide might as well start wearing bullseyes on their backs.

Immediately? No, that would cause a worse disaster than is there now. A phased withdrawal as Iraq becomes stable? Yes, of course.
In Iraq, not right now. But the rest of the world absolutely.
