A good judge of the quality of a man is the sort of enemies and critics he attracts. President Bush is a modern day Abraham Lincoln, a great man who was despised in his own times but who led the United States to victory through hard decisions and hard days. One day he and Prime Minister Blair will be seen as visionaries and saviours of the western world.

I am 100% serious in my intentions here. Its easy to criticise leaders in times of crisis. If you read contempary reports on the conduct of Abraham Lincoln you could be forgiven for thinking that you are reading about President Bush. If we win this current struggle against militant islamic fanatics then Bush and Blair will seem like visionaries for seeing the fight through.
