WHAT IS YOUR OPINION OF TRIAL BY JURY?

Is that the best system of justice, putting your life in hands of people who are not experts in forensic or whatever the crime you are being charged with?

It sounds all democratic and cool, “Jury of your peers,” but is it really that cool?

If you were charged with murder, would you rather have 12 people of all walks of life, or would you want another system, a panel of experts for example, to decide your fate?

What say you?

Even when charged with crimes other than murder. Get the best lawyer available.

No system is perfect. A panel of experts would have problems, too.

I think it's a good system with significant flaws.

If there were some way they could be more selective of the initial pool of jurors that would help matters.

This was a right set down in the Magna Carta... did she die in vain wink?

*This reference may puzzle a few, it was uttered by the late and great Tony Hancock, an icon of the 50s in the UK*

I can't think of any way to make it more fair. People make mistakes but someone has to try to decide if a crime has been committed so that justice can be served. Maybe if juries were bigger that might make it even more fair.
