How large of a boat/ship do you need in oder to name it. Honestly I don't know. Do you think it would arrogant if I named my canoe "God of the Sea" and wrote it on the side?

You might get away with it if you just write it small with permanent marker. Big red letters? maybe not, the big boats may laugh.

Being an almost-Navy man, I wouldn't go that far, naming my canoe. Number designation for it, maybe, but that would be the limit.
