It has ALWAYS been the dream and belief of all Jews to return to the land of Israel ever since the diaspora. Additionally, IF you READ the Bible, it is promised to the Jews that they would. This promise is found all over the place in the Bible (by the prophets). So, it really isn't any surprise that they have and will continue to do so. This is why many Christians actively support Israel and a fair number help Jews emigrate to Israel. I'm sure some people will hyperventilate at this comment, but I am only telling you what a large number of people, especially in the US believe. Now, you can criticise some aspects of Zionism and not be anti-Jew, even some Jews criticise aspects of it, but usually for different reasons than many non-Jews might.
I'll add a couple of things. Even some Muslims agree that Jews should be able to live in Israel. Even the Quran states that the Torah is true (where the first eternal promise to the land of Israel is made to the Jews). It is a political thing in much of the Muslim world, to rile up the masses so they ignore the poverty they live in. Iran is a perfect example of this. Their economy is a wreck despite having all the oil wealth.
I'll add that criticising the government, its actions, etc are all fair game as long as you hold it to the same standard you do every other country.

Zionists assert that Jews have the right to possess all land between the Nile and the Euphrates because this land was given to them by God as set forth in the Old Testament (Genesis 15:18). Zionism is a political movement concerned principally with the establishment of a state in Palestine to be controlled by and for Jews. It began in the late 19th Century and attained its stated objective with the creation in 1948 of the state of Israel by the United Nations (at the insistence of the United States. Subsequently Israel doubled the amount of territory it controlled by means of seizing some of the territory of the enemies who had attacked her on the West Bank and Gaza after the 1967 and 1973 wars. Many, but far from all, Jews are Zionists. In fact, there is a large sect of Orthodox Jews who absolutely deplore a Jewish state, claiming that such a state cannot be legitimate until the appearance of the Messiah. So, criticizing Zionism does not mean that you are attacking all Jews, just a political philosophy.

It is possible to know the difference between nationalism and nationality. I can hate Prussian militarism without hating every German. I can hate Al Quada without hating Muslims.
No more than if you were to criticise christanity you criticise all christians.

No, but there are members of the pro-Israel crowd who eagerly try to condition Americans to the idea that any criticism of Israel or Jews, regardless of how slight, is anti-Semitism.
"n fact, there is a large sect of Orthodox Jews who absolutely deplore a Jewish state," Not true. Only a very small minority, primarily very ultra-orthodox Jews such as the Neturei Karta. Anti-Zionist Jews are an extremely small minority. They differ from other Jews in that only the Messiah can restore Israel and Jerusalem to the Jews. In any case, they still believe that Israel and Jerusalem are holy to the Jews. "It is possible to know the difference between nationalism and nationality." Israel and Israelites (or Jews) are inextricably tied to one another. If you were to study the Bible you would see this. There are very specific reasons for this, especially in regards to Jerusalem. 1. The land of Israel and especially Jerusalem is imbued with tremendous spiritual and mystical significance in Judaism. It is not possible to fully practice all aspects of Judaism if a Jew is not in Israel (some reasons are specified below). I can add many more. 2. Jerusalem and the temple there is the ONLY place where Jews can bring sacrifices (the pilgrimages of Passover, Sukkot, and Shavuot) each year. It is the ONLY place where sacrifices can be offered. (This is specifically detailed in many verses). 3. It is the ONLY place where the temple can be rebuilt when the Messiah (Christian or Jewish version) comes. And the "New Jerusalem" referenced in both Hebrew and Christian Bibles. 4. It is and has been the religious center for Jews since the time of Abraham and Issac. This is the place where Abraham was to sacrifice Isaac. Isaac is the ancestor of the Jews. 5. Under the Dome of the rock on the Temple Mount is the "Holy of Holies". This is the most holy place on earth to Jews for many reasons. It is also the place where the Ark of the Covenant was housed. 6. Jerusalem is mentioned over 700 times in the Hebrew Bible. A return of the Jews to Israel is mentioned dozens and dozens of times. Example: Isaiah 62:1 1 For Zion's sake will I not hold My peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until her triumph go forth as brightness, and her salvation as a torch that burneth. 7. A majority of the 613 biblical commandments that Jews follow can ONLY be done in Israel. Simply put, full practice of Judaism requires being in the land of Israel. 8. The return from exile (or diaspora) is central to Biblical prophecies and therefore to Jewish and Christian belief. It is also the place where the Christian messiah will return. Jews in the land of Israel play a special significance in this belief as well. Ironically, many people don't want the Jews in their country and they don't want them to have their own either. I don't expect most people to agree with me, but I don't post comments to "preach to the choir", but to express my views.
Perhaps not necessarily, but often it is a smokescreen for those who want to hate the jews, but who realize it isn't publicly acceptable to do so anymore. But ahmadinejad is most definitely an anti-semite. He might claim to be criticizing zionists, but he then goes on to deny the holocaust and wish it had been finished (a bit of a contradiction, but tyrannts have no need for consistency).

At least, that shouldn't be the case, although some try to conflate it.

Even if it really doesn't you'll immediately be branded as an anti-Semite Nazi and holocaust denier. That's why they control the government and the media, silly.
Zionism and 99% of jewish rabbis are ONE and the same.
NO. Only Zionists pretend and claim this it is.
