WHY WAS NEWSWEEK'S COVER STORY "LOSING AFGHANISTAN" NOT PUBLISHED IN THE US

[+] serious ballot by Mithrandir
created Sat Oct 07, 06

Only editions of the magazine destined for Asia, Latin America and Europe carried an in-depth analysis of the situation in Afghanistan and the failures of the U.S.-led war in the October 2 2006 edition of Newsweek. Readers in the US got a retrospective of the career of photographer Annie Leibovitz.

Why do you think that is?

I don't know
I don't want to think about it
American voters don't want to be reminded of failure before an election
You don't make money selling the truth
The White House asked them not to publish it, or else
$$$$$$$$
We're Losing?????
To Help McCain Win

A fine example of the 'liberal media' (sarcasm/on).

Where are the usual suspects when we don't need them less than usual, c'mon, we know you have all sen this ballot, you normally race to the scene of ballots that you think can debunk faster than the US airforce planes that intercepted Payne Stewarts plane when it drifted of course, but this same US airforce somehow failed to intercept any of the planes on 9/11, we know you guys like your golf over there, but you can't try to tell us that Payne Stewart's private plane was that important?

I fear that it's coming to the point of "America, love it or leave it." And I need to pack my bags...

To Americans, Annie Leibowitz is far more important than the so-called "War on Terror."
by cranky on Sat Oct 07, 06 2:57pm [+]

Kens comment ties in with the bullshit war on terror and duping the US public.

They sell what they think people will buy. Not all facts are popular.

^Hello little boy.

Well seeing you've blocked me from your ballots, goahead. As long as you silence the opposition, you'll get the answers you want.

Just like being in the playground this.

You're missing the most likely option:

Most Americans are more interested in fluff, stuff which doesn't require them to think too deeply.

(I'm American, for the record).
