I've never really *had* a mentor, per se. Part of the uniqueness that forged me into this mass of contrary impulses is that no one person had a hand in guiding me through life. I've looked up toa number of people throughout my life, from my high-school histgory, drama/English and chemistry teachers to a friend in college who was a grad student to my fiancee's father who was a Marine NCO.
