COMMENTS:
Parts of San Antonio are very haunted. I've had several experiences there in a couple of the hotels. Have taken some photos with some strange anomalies in them too. Completely unexplainable by any known logical means.
Voted : New Orleans, Louisiana
Be sure to visit Madame Laveau!
Voted : San Antonio, Texas
San Antonio outdoes Galveston in many respects :P
I enjoy watching shows on haunted places. I think I"ll go with Gettysburg.
New Orleans without a doubt is America's most haunted city! Trust me on this!

Voted : Ventura, California
I lived in a house here where I was terrorized by multiple spirits on a nightly basis, for years. Until something showed up one night in my window that ended it all. I've never been able to explain any of it.

Voted : Salem, Massachusetts
I think my 2nd favorite place ever is here. Salem. I love these kind of things I'd like to say that I live in the 10th most haunted state in america, but I've never seen a ghost or anything so I'm not so convinced
Athens, Ohio is only at 1%!!! People... you do realize that Athens, Ohio is nationally recognized as the 13th most haunted place in the entire world! The old regional insane asylum is there, OU is the most haunted campus campus in the country, the 5 graveyards form a perfect pentagram with OU in the center... I could go on and on with the actual stories.
We are in Savannah now and have caught many paranormal images on our camera
Voted : Athens, Ohio
Athens, Ohio is said to be one of the most haunted places in America, and is reputed to contain many ghosts. When drawing a line from each of the five cemeteries around Athens, it forms a pentagram with the center being Ohio University. Ohio University is also considered by some to be the most haunted campus in America, as is the former state hospital, Athens Lunatic Asylum, located right near campus. The FOX show Scariest Places On Earth filmed an episode at various places around Ohio University. According to the British Society for Psychical Research the 13th most haunted place on earth is Athens, Ohio.
Voted : Cimarron, New Mexico
Settled in 1841, this town became known as "Satan's Paradise". This small township has seen its share of death. Deadly gunplay killed many, as records can attest. Cimarron became an important stop on the old Santa Fe Trail. The word "Cimarron" in Spanish means "wild" or "unruly", and the town lived up to its name. In 1875, as with so many other towns throughout the west, Cimarron gained the reputation for lawlessness. The history of the Cimarron area is both varied and vague. Everything that happened somewhere in the west, happened in Cimarron. The St. James Hotel seems to be the center of the haunting activity for the town.
Why isn't Virginia City, Nevada on the list ?
Voted : Crosby, Texas
This haunted neighborhood has been written about in the novel, "The Black Hope Horror". The neighborhood was constructed over an old slave cemetary and many of the residents were terrorized by the angry spirits that dwelled below. No one had a clue as to what was causing it until a couple, while digging a swimming pool, unearthed the remains of a couple who had been buried in their backyard. It is a story that is very similar to the movie "Poltergeist", but it is frighteningly real. Most of the activity is centered at the east end of Poppets Way and the side street that connects at the east end. According to the book, people would rent a house on the street and abruptly leave within a month...and this was a very regular occurence.
