I can buy you happiness, but not true love - just the gold-digging kind.

I know people say it can't , but I think it can, not having to worry about bills, doing what you want when you want, maybe not for every minute of the day, but it could buy happiness for me some of the time.
* 'It' can buy you happiness

Not all the happiness in the world, but some happiness.
depends on what makes you happy

I don't believe that, because so many of those we see who have stacks of cash and such end up in divorce court.
I think that it really depends upon HOW the money is spent. Too many ppl get into debt; they should use money to get away from the unsavoury things of life, like, a heavy work load. That's why there are so many troubled marriages (I think), b/c couples don't spend enough time with another, b/c work coincides with the time they want to spend with each other. Also, ppl get themselves into debt over stupid things, unnessecary things like cloths, and that big ("I just had to buy that*) useless tv screen.

I don't think that money is the number one cause of depression, divorce and anxiety. Divorces end because of irreconcilable differences and cheating. Lots of people who have little money are happy. Most people throughout the world have far less money than the western world, but depression is almost unheard of. Happiness is found in other things, not those things which are material.

Money CAN buy happiness, but it cannot buy JOY. Happiness is just the state of being LUCKY, of being the recipemt of HAPPENSTANCE. You want money and you have it. But the ENJOYMENT of that money, or of anything, for that matter, depends on how you emotioanly deal with circumstanes, and that has nothing to do with money. It's different from being ebabled or comfortable because you have things that make it so. It's a separate thing.

Yeah been lookin' for a place that sells happiness, and haint found it yet. Let me know when you do.
Plus, you can't take money with you when you die. Money has no inherent value. It is only useful as a method of exchange for fair trade. Currency trading is stupid and should be made illegal, as people are getting rich from buying and selling currencies, gambling REAL money for profits in currency markets, when money really has no intrinsic value. People can live and survive without the existence of money, but they cannot survive or live comfortably without food, water, housing, clothing and a peaceful environment. Money was invented to help make trade easier and more convenient, but now, the bankers and financiers who control most of the world's paper money (including over $32,000,000,000,000,000 ie. 32 quadrillion+ US dollars worth of derivatives, such as credit swaps, options, futures, bonds, etc) are now destroying the world's physical economies (adding up to only about $52,000,000,000,000 ie. 52 trillion US dollars of trade per year), and turning vast hard working skilled populations of people into virtual financial slaves...
Money and western capitalism have destroyed most of the productive industrial capabilities of Europe, UK, USA and most of the western world... Greedy bankers and paper traders and bean-counting parasites are now the wealthiest and most influential people on the planet!

absolutely. not having to worry about paying bills, being able to go where you want, when you want, it makes a world of difference. it can't bring happiness for the most part because we are each masters of our own happiness, but it makes life much easier.
Money can't buy happiness. But it can sure rent a lot of 'avoidance of common unhappiness' factors.
