It isn't about sport or "bravery." It's about the fact that man is a predator by nature. We're hardwired that way, and if we can't prey on other animals, we'll prey on each other.
Bravery? Oh yeah like it's brave to shoot birds out of the sky. Most of the animals hunted are NO threat to man so where does bravery come in? When's the last time a deer attacked a man?
Hunting should be classified as animal abuse. Animals are living creatures just like humans and have feelings just like humans. I certainly wouldn't like for someone to just walk up and shoot me for fun, and I don't think an innocent animal deserves that either. Some people may use the defense that humans are smarter than animals and are therefore more important, but by that logic, I could say that I am more important than a mentally retarded person because I'm smarter and therefore it's perfectly okay for me to shoot a retarded person. Um... no. And as a matter of fact, most animals are smarter than most retarded people, yet few seem to consider animals superior to the mentally retarded. In conclusion, yes, I think that hunting wild animals for fun is absolute cruelty.

my dad used to go shooting with his m8s, but they were paid by the golfcourse to get rid of the rabbits destroying the place, stuff like that, and they cooked and ate them l8r anyway, so it wasn't sensless, it had purpose. and besides, everyone loved their rabbit stew, even me, and i'm a total nature person
there is nothing wrong with hunting! doesnt matter what youre shooting. ive only ever shot a moose. well 2 actually and it was just an awesome feeling. call me what you want but until you kill a 4 hundred pound beast with a rifle after sneaking up to it to get a shot, you cant say shit. adrenaline rush
I can understand killing for food. But I think killing for sport is wrong. It's not really even hunting anymore anyways, all you do is pull a trigger. Where's the sport in that? Might as well go play a video game.
But if you want to get into cruelty, go look at what happens in our slaughterhouses instead of blindly eating your meat without knowing how it got to the store. That makes hunting look like child's play.
have you read the "most dangerous game"?
What a bunch of tree-huggers faggots. If you want to stop animal cruelty go free the TENTH OF THOUSANDS chicken, pigs and other food-on-feet in mass farms that are going to be electroshockilled or other nice things. I hate those damn wanabe green instead of focusing on the big business they attack hunters as its easier to ban their things than big corporations.

logically it should be imoral. However there is obviusly a natural instinct within us to kill little beasties otherwise noone would do it. Should we oppress our natural needs for the sake of a man made moral? I'm not a hunter by the way!
