IS THE AMERICAN JUSTICE SYSTEM....

[+] serious ballot by passiveson
created Wed Oct 25, 06

In my personal experience and based on my observations of current trends in legislature, Truth and Justice in America is waning. Do you believe that the American Criminal Justice System is fair and judicial, representing "Justice" in the eyes of the world?

Yes, more or less, the courts are impartial and sentences are uniform, nothing is perfect.
Corruption is everywhere, courts are no exception.
Not to the Poor, Monorities or Muslims.
It's give and take, so balance is maintained.

COMMENTS:
Things were never perfect. Chicago had major problems a few years back, when police chief Burge tortured suspects into confessing to murders, some of which was contradicted by DNA evidence. And things were even worse before modern forensics and DNA evidence existed.

I guess then it's acceptable for warrantless searches and easedropping evidence to be admitted at trial (the authenticity of such evidence remains in question without judicail process to determine probable cause), or the indefinate detention of a "suspects" without trial or a lawyer?

The question addresses the entire Criminal Justice System, not just the Courts. For clarification, that is Laws, Enforcement, Courts and Imprisonment.

Thanks for the comment though, you make an interesting point :)

Remember the Golden Rule, he who has the gold makes the rules.

Hence justice belongs to those who can afford it.
