But to be fair I cannot prove or disprove this notion so I can't say with absolute certainty that ghosts do not exist, but I've seen no evidence to suggest they do.

I try to avoid the word "believe", but I think it's possible. I've actually had experience with some related encounters. Whether they were what's classed as "residual" (as opposed to intelligent entities) or not, I have no idea.
The Stone Tape Theory in regards to entities is very interesting and something highly possible I think.
