Voted : Sentence was too light
There are some perverts 'teaching' your children. When they get caught, the justice system should punish them to the nth degree. If that's not done, watch out for more and more perverted teachers.
Instead of becoming teachers, they should run for Congress, in Florida, as Republicans.
9 years of prison, 4 years on the sex offenders list, and a ruined career/life. I think thats enough to satisfy the publics bloodlust, dont you?
OH, I can just hear the guys going wild for this. C'mon, you guys, this is your fantasy.

Seems about right. 9 years is a long time, and she will never teach again, likely she'll never have any sort of decent job again. And while her actions were certainly inappropriate and deserved punishment she didn't actually hurt anyone directly, so I see no need for any sort of extreme punishment. 9 years will probably do the trick.
I hope some of the time will be spent with a shrink...something seems to be out of order with her thought process...and if it's a mental problem, perhaps the sentence is a little bit heavy...
what kind of evidence did they have to convict her? on heresay of children only? how much were these children coached by the prosecutors? in the 80's, they convicted a lot of innocent people for decades in prison, and they all turned out to be innocent. Unless they have her on tape, I think we will hear from them again in 10 years, as they acquit her of all charges. we gotta get those cameras in all classrooms.

True, this does sound totally bogus. Like the case of that poor schumuck in the South who was held, without a trial, for three years for allegedly for molesting some kids at a pre-school (he didn't even work there). It was later discovered that prosecuters and child psychologists had coached the kids, and that he was obviously innocent.

Freaks.
Damn. Misclicked *again*. Time for eyeglasses...
If this is true, the first question that strikes me is "What person in their right mind would do such a thing?" The second question is 'Why are we so intent on punishing the behaviour rather than seeking to correct an aberrant behaviour?'
BL: If the only thing keeping 'more and more perverted teachers' from engaging in this behaviour is the fear of punishment ... I'd say that something is seriously broken, somewhere.
