COMMENTS:
I've given up on South Park ... had a lot of promise, in teh early days, but crudity, moralizing, and general lack of ... too many things to list ... eventually made me give up.
Cathexis what to you mean by moralizing?
It has its moments, from the few eps I've seen of it. But it can't be too much, IMO, if it can't hold my interest.
In defense of South Park they seem to savage everyone and everything that makes the headlines, this is nothing personal against Irwin.Yet I still think the timing was way too soon to make a mockery of his death let alone place an animated figure of Irwin in Hell.Irwin has kids and who know if their school mates watch S.P and what they might say to Irwin's children when they see this esp.
Voted : A bit but that's South Park, they aren't PC and that's why I love it
A lot of what they do is wrong. I'm glad it's them and not me.

no, as I understand it that's what South park is by definition, as Steve Irwin was the spastic exploiter and abusers of wild animals. Sorry if you find that view offensive, but his show was called Crocadile Hunter, not Animal Conservationist. I just don't buy the reinvention of his image to someone who cares about conservation.

Why is it when someone dies everyone starts lovin' them to an extreme. IMO he was a c?*nt when he was alive and he's still a c*nt now he's dead. Just my two cents. :o)

i find south park to be very impartial and equally abusive to everyone
Freedom of Speech, besides the croc hunter was a dumbass who wanted to get eaten. unfortunatly he just got a stinger through his heart.
^Duhhh, people who dogmatically repear the mantra "Freedom of Speech" at every opportunity clearly have no concept whatsoever of personal responsibility and empathy with others, and should be choked to death on diseased pigeon carcasses. Heh heh... However, on this occasion I agree with you, Elashia (but NOT for the reasons you gave!) - South Park is impartial, which makes it OK in my book. And I like the fact that it's controversial and refreshingly un-PC. BTW I find this ballot hugely amusing, since ray-stung TV celebrity Steve Irwin has been accorded a status higher than Jesus of Mohammed, which is surely a sign of the times. Rock on !!
^ "Jesus *or* Mohammed", naturally...
Two thing to adress: The Ballot. And LCD's ridiculous comment. First of all I'm a big fan of South Park. I can't think of many things I disagree with as far as its satire goes. However I was disappointed at this episode. I can't think of a time when they have mocked a dead celebrity so soon after their death. And the fact that Steve Irwin was a different kind of celebrity makes it even worse. LCD Steve Irwin didn't abuse wild animals. He worked every day to educate people about conservation and save wild animals. He regularly saved animals from death by helping them out or taking them into his vet. All the money he made through popular culture was used to buy up wildlife. I hardly think his image as a conservationist is a put on. fuck you're an idiot

Even the Satan character voiced concern whether that was in good tase. The entire episode was a spoof of an MTV's Super Sweet 16 episode featuring a little porker named Sophie. They were spot on.
LCD- He was a conservationist. I never liked his show. However, I always respected his conservationist work outside his show. He has done a lot for environmental protection of animals, starting long before his show. Your observation is false. I do think South Park did cross the line of what I think is far too insensitive. They have done so many times before. They are sick in the head. No, really, they are psycologically disturbed from my point of view.
