Cheap labor doesn't benefit the laborers, who are exploited and forced to live in poverty while breaking their back. And it doesn't benefit the working class that lose jobs to illegals. The only clear "winners" are the companies that hire them. You may say, "How could Bush deport all of them? It would be too expensive!" If Bush really wanted to solve the problem with illegal immigration he would simply issue an executive order charging heavy fines on any company that hires illegals. So heavy in fact the revenue could be used to deport them. With heavy fines, no one would hire them and without jobs available they wouldn't come back. I support legal immigration, because legal immigrants are given a far better shake in America. I understand that while poverty in the States is nothing compared to the poverty in Mexico, that the burden of it is being felt exclusively by the illegals and the American working class. The wealthy along with the lobbyists & republicans that support them will never fix this problem.
