There is no reason why homosexuals shouldn't be allowed to adopt! They're no less responsible than straight people! I have good friends that are gay! Why should children grow up in an orphanage when there are people willing to love and care for them?

i feel that gay people should be allowed to adopt for the fact that, they should be able to have a family to. I believe it's important for a child to be raised by a man and a woman. It takes a man and a woman to create a child.
If a couple can provide a child with an education, care and above all love, then why shouldn't they be able to adopt? Provided the child is safe and happy, surely thats better than them being stuck in an orphanage or shunted from foster home to foster home? And SD, either tone down your opinions or keep them to yourself.
First of all, where are all of these orphanages you people are talking about? Most of these children are foster children. Foster children are not up for adoption they are in temporary housing that can spiral to long term care. There are waiting lists for white children and you can forget about adopting a baby as it is near enough impossible. My aunt and her husband tried to adopt for years and mothers kept changing their minds. To assume every gay person is a responsible parent is ridiculous borderline stupid. There are many damaged, sick and irresponsible staight and gay people. So I don't want to hear it. My awnser would be no. Children need to be placed in homes with a mother and father. I think if they are trying to place children in homes which are best for them this would not be any better than poor parents that would like to adopt, wouldn't some people that have little money be good parents? Some of the best people in history were raised in poverty. These people can't adopt either... So NO WAY!
I fully support homosexual rights, and agree utterly with the 'what you do in the privacy of your own home is your own business' comment posted previously, but the moment you bring a child, (without their consent, given they're too young to give it) you're playing in a whole different ballpark.
If you opt to live a lifestyle outside the norm, I applaud your individuality, but forcing it on a child because you want to have your cake and eat it too is obnoxious.
