STATEMENT BY JOHN KERRY. WHAT WAS HE THINKING?

[+] serious ballot by ClosetIguana
created Tue Oct 31, 06

If the Republican party is self-destructing don't get in the way. God, some of the Democrats don't belong in politics.

Anyway here's his statement.

"You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq," Kerry said.

A defiant Kerry said at a news conference Tuesday his comments were a "botched joke" meant to refer to President George W. Bush.

He's starting to gloat to early
he's an idiot
He meant to say that Bush is stupid, which is true

COMMENTS:
he's as big an idiot as bush. i'm sure he meant it as a jab at bush but being such a robot with no personality and no comedic timing, it came out all wrong. he and howard dean are bungeling boring baffons.
by Kev24 on Tue Oct 31, 06 5:36pm [+]

Thank god he's not the Commander-In-Chief!

Now, he claims he was trying to insult the President... not the troops. However, anyone with any sense can see right through THAT charade.
by Tode1 on Tue Oct 31, 06 5:47pm [+]

Voted : he's an idiot
Regardless of what his intentions were, he was clearly insulting our troops.
by nuckinfutz on Tue Oct 31, 06 5:48pm [+]

We now know what Kerry subconsciously thinks of our troops. There's no getting around the fact that he insulted them, whatever his intentions were.
by nuckinfutz on Tue Oct 31, 06 5:54pm [+]

Voted : he's an idiot
Probably not the smartest move before an election -.-
by himself809 on Tue Oct 31, 06 5:56pm [+]

NOW do you see what I have to put up with in this state? And Teddy-boy is worse!
by Bostonian on Tue Oct 31, 06 6:43pm [+]

It wasn't that big of a mistake, really.
by fruitloop on Tue Oct 31, 06 7:22pm [+]

Was Kerry's comment supposed to mean that Bush didn't study very hard at Yale? The National Guard wasn't the same as combat.
by fruitloop on Tue Oct 31, 06 7:24pm [+]

We know what Kerry said can't be true. If it was, Tode1 would be posting from Baghdad.
by cranky on Tue Oct 31, 06 8:03pm [+]

Voted : He meant to say that Bush is stupid, which is true
However he has foot in mouth disease almost as bad as Bush.
by FiddleFaddleOnLSD on Tue Oct 31, 06 8:23pm [+]

I am impressed with his honesty though.
by herzog on Tue Oct 31, 06 9:26pm [+]

If he was taking a jab at the troops and/or the uneducated, his honesty showed. If he was taking a jab at Bush, he should have been smart enough to put in in the right context so it would not be misunderstood.
by Grumpy_Person on Wed Nov 01, 06 1:04am [+]

CI: Kerry's eye - mote. Collective GOP eye - beam.

Methinks thou doth protest too much.
by Cathexis on Wed Nov 01, 06 7:06am [+]

I don't know. He was ambiguous. He should have been more clear.
by Socrates on Wed Nov 01, 06 7:59am [+]

Cathexis

I create one ballot about his statement and I'm protesting too much?
by ClosetIguana on Wed Nov 01, 06 8:29am [+]

CI: Yup.

After six years of feigned outrage and incredible hypocrisy, I am not inclined to cut folks much slack for falling into a GOP tactic. After five years of exploiting 'the troops' for political gain, I just have no patience with such protestations, anymore.
by Cathexis on Wed Nov 01, 06 8:53am [+]

So, if one ballot is protesting too much then no ballots would suit you just fine, right? Sorry it's not going to happen.
by ClosetIguana on Wed Nov 01, 06 10:28am [+]

CI: On a non-topic Yes ... 'no ballots' are appropriate.

And I have no delusions about it 'not happening.' After six years of incredible deceit and hypocrisy from the GOP, I am fully aware that those who still support this group will continue to grasp at whatever they can to try to position their folks.
by Cathexis on Wed Nov 01, 06 12:45pm [+]

Non-topic is it? I'm sure there are many Democrats that wish that was the case but unfortunatly for the Democrats and fortunatly for the Republicans it is currently a hot topic everywhere.
by ClosetIguana on Wed Nov 01, 06 1:44pm [+]

And the fact that is a currently a hot topic is exactly why I created this ballot. Kerry gave the Republicans something to sink their teeth into (which you'd expect either party to do)at the worst possible time. It was a big mistake on his part. I'm sure some Democrats are thinking the same thing.

Just as the rich Hollywood dahlings think they can get away with saying anything, so does he.
by Black_Lava on Wed Nov 01, 06 3:00pm [+]

"I am impressed with his honesty though."

Too bad no one will ever be impressed with Herzog's honesty.
by cranky on Wed Nov 01, 06 3:04pm [+]

Now John Kerry has acknowledged that he wasn't referring to President Bush in his uneducated troops remark.

cranky: Put up or shut up. I'd gladly go to Iraq to put you in my crosshairs.

To those who believed otherwise... Maybe you'll begin to see the error of your ways.
by Tode1 on Thu Nov 02, 06 6:25am [+]

Voted : he's an idiot
It's just as incorrect for Democrats to have blind faith in other Democrats as it is for Republicans to have blind faith in other Republicans.
by nuckinfutz on Thu Nov 02, 06 11:54am [+]

Bush's GPA was a little higher than Kerrys.Which means Kerry's dumb ass should be in Iraq. Like I said before he has no respect for the military personal. Thank God for the Sift Boat crew who told the truth about him.
