COMMENTS:
It seems obvious to me that it depends on what body you're looking at. There are beautiful bodies, hideous bodies, and everything else in between.
What defense is there? I think it's funny that the same people that think a nude figure is gross are the same people that think a "god" created it. If a person said that any other naked animal was "gross" and should be clothed, we'd think they were crazy. Because deep down we all know that when a person says they are disgusted by the sight of a naked person that they are only projecting their own insecurity on that person. It's a form of jealousy. "I hate the way I look naked so I have to make other people hate the way they look naked in order to feel normal. I can't face the possibility that there may be something wrong with me so I must make healthy people feel their is something wrong with them."
Bostonian- there is a direct correlation between how healthy a person is and how attractive they are, it's called "sexual selection." You aren't attracted to fat people with bad teeth, because they are unhealthy. When I said above that I was speaking of "a nude, perfectly healthy human being" I meant one that by most human standards would be considered attractive to the opposite sex.
If someone is disgusted by a healthly human body than they definately have some issues, perhasp they don't like their own body and project their negetative feels out to the human body in general.
RobinG, I'm sorry. I missed the main point of your question. I didn't connect "healthy" with attractiveness because there are some athletes, marathon runners for example, who are very healthy, but I don't find their bodies to be necessarily attractive. In any case, I agree with Corrupt.
I am REALLY glad everyone I see when I'm out has clothes on.

To maintain social cohesiveness, we separate ourselves from animals. People don't like to think of themselves as animals, and when you see genitalia you're reminded of that. Some societies have imprinted the shame of sex, the shame of the human body, and the "shame of nudity" more firmly on the populace than others -- like the U.S. for example.
I often ponder this question while I surf my specialist sites with my trousers around my ankles.

Gross is such a strong word. You my or may not be attracted to a nude body, but grossed out?
*may*
IMO, anyone who finds nudity "disgusting" has deep- seated psychological issues.
There are some exceptions. I find body building obsessed women and to a lesser extent men, quite disturbing, bordering on repulsive. If that makes my psychologically unhealthy, then so be it.
I don't believe viewing a nude body is unhealthy at all. I see nude people all the time in my profession.
Voted : No. I'm a man.
The human body is a beautiful thing. It is a delight to behold. Viewing the nude male or female can be very uplifting, and quite healthy. I highly recommend it.
