Voted : Yes, they have sold out
YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! I do believe in a higher power, but this is one of the many reasons I'm disgusted with organized religion.
One of the best ballots ever on B&W.com Where does one start to answer a question like that? There is no end to the answer I feel. Ireland was the Catholic's faith's Fort Knox until we discovered that the priests that we so revered and respected were actually just peadophile perverts who were masquerading as men of God, what a perfect ruse to gain access to children and have their trust - and way with them, stealing their innocence. Our government forked out 90% of the 120 million euros compensation to victims of priestophile* abuse, all of it taxpayers money. I can hardly express how angry that makes me feel. *copyright (KFD)
No, you take one segment of one religion and neglect all of the other positive examples that are out there.
Voted : Yes, they have sold out
I'm for spirituality, but haven't been to church since I can't remember when. In God we trust, all others pay cash.
That much being said, true spirituality is very important.
Voted : Depends on the church
No. There's alot of churches out there who actually spend more money and effort on helping their community and the people in it than on themselves. But they only get mentioned on slow news days. And they're not as fun to talk about and bash.
Fiddle: I used to feel that way. I wish I still could.
Religion from day one was purely about money, power and control.
Religion sold out in the Dark Ages when monks started taking money from the rich to pray for their souls. How else do you think the Church got so wealthy?
Voted : They sold out centuries ago
Absolutely. Someone has to pay for the gay prostitutes, meth, and lawyers.
Voted : They sold out centuries ago
Example- indulgences, a fine legacy of my own Church...
PEOPLE MAKE BAD DECISIONS EVERY DAY,SOME PRIEST AND PASTORS DO WRONG BUT THE CHURCH IS JUST ONE OR TO PEOPLE THAT DO WRONG BUT IT IS MILLIONS OF PEOPLE,. SOME RIGHT SOME WRONG. CHRIST IS THE HEAD OF THE CHURCH HE IS THE JUDGE OF EVERY THING.
Voted : Depends on the church
Gods true church are all those born again through the shed blood of Jesus Christ and have sold out to Christ Alone. Many of the Protestant and Catholic Religions in this country have truly sold out, the candlestick has been removed and many of your TV ministers have become very very corrupt. God have mercy on America. We need to turn back to Jesus Christ the Only hope of Salvation for A lost and dying world.
