Voted : Not Sure
I have to admit that, this year, I voted for *two* Republicans, for State Insurance Commisioner and Public Service Commission rep, both because they had the best ratings provided for job performance. If such occurs again, 'll give them my vote. Party loyalty is all fine and good, but it can be a hindrance if the person you vote blindly for is incompetant. The woman who was just re-elected as our State School Super has managed to steward the greatest drop in state test scores in state history. I'm sure you've heard your share of "dumb Alabaman" jokes (apologies to lemming, who is far from such). Well, Alabamans are telling "dumb Jawjan" jokes...
If they get their heads together and get what it takes to get the party back on track, I sure will. I voted republican for our local offices. The incumbent opposition has all but bankrupted our county. County equipment for personal use, taking Florida vacations in city vehicles on city money, using city and county gas and equipment for personal use, approving a million dollar museum that costs 10,000 a month to run and maintain but has yet to bring any money to the county after seven years, indecency with a child charges that were mysteriously dropped, a sheriff that doesnt even have a current Texas peace officers license, a DA who only sees on average 1 case every two months, and a commisioner who's been caught buying votes. And that's not all. And the sad thing is that there's a local investigator who's started a newspaper detailing the area corruption but the voters ignore what's in it because the local politicans have spread the word that it's "tabloid trash". Using the freedom to access public information and printing copies of all of the documents involved in their wrongdoings is hardly what I would call trash. But that's politics for ya.
it's not the question of which party, it's a question of qualification and personality. scratch the personality part, becuase you can get the snake in the grass "I will work to build consensus" candidate that turns into hitler once in office. I would always choose the best candidate for the job, despite what colors they wear.
Voted : No
Every time I have in the past I've regretted it. This time, when I really didn't like the Dem, I voted for a minor party.
I will not vot Republican again. I will not...
What do you mean "again"?
Definitely not before they've cleaned up their collective act.
