HOW COME WHEN I RATE GUEST CHOICES/BALLOTS/COMMENTS....

[+] serious ballot by Kiki
created Sat Nov 11, 06

...the superuser that approved it gets the karma? On one of my ballots a guest user posted spam nonsense (just posting random letters) so I gave them negative karma but it went to SteelHamster. This has happened before too - I know positive karma goes to the superuser, but should negative go to them as well?

Can you tell by my last three questions I'm really confused by B&W? I want to get more involved but I'm clueless! And nobody else ever seems to know what's going on either, I never get the answers I'm looking for.

Negative karma shouldn't be given to the superuser that approved a guest option
Superusers should get the karma (+ or -) since they let it on the site
I don't understand the question

I approve ballots and comments, not spam.

If someone spams the ballot and it is given negative karma, then i guess i recieve it too.

Not sure why...

You can give me positive karma if you like, just pick one of my ballots you like wink

Haha I am one step ahead of you! I gave you positive karma for something else a minute ago.

This was totally spam though, you can look at your negative karma to see what it was. Their ballot choice (or was it a comment?) was something like lisrioyhw[oihp

Hey but speaking of approving ballots though, I mentioned this on another ballot but nobody knew why. How come all the guest ballots are from like 2003 and they are all closed? But we are supposed to approve them? I've just been rejecting all of them, they are things like 'Do you hope Kelly Clarkson will win American Idol' and 'Are you voting Kerry or Bush in 2004'. How come it's like that?

I don't think that the actions of an unsupervised fool should affect a good person.

That doesn't sound fair.

I got negative larma from Aya for a comment I approved. I was annoyed at first then I thought maybe I shouldn't have approved the guest users comment to begin with.

That is how it works. A registered user can also approve a comment or choice. If you approve a racist or spam comment, you should be prepared for a negative rating. If you don't do this users who want to spam and post racist comment will do it through the guest forum and then go and approve the comment. Keep in mind that any user can approve a comment, but a maintainer can reject it.
