US VETOES MOTION ON GAZA ATTACK

[+] serious ballot by herzog
created Sat Nov 11, 06

The US has vetoed a UN Security Council resolution condemning an Israeli attack in Gaza that killed 18 civilians, including women and children.

The draft, which also condemned Israeli military operations in Gaza, followed Wednesday's attack in Beit Hanoun.

The US ambassador at the UN, John Bolton, described the text as unbalanced and politically motivated.

Four days ago this attack took place, and killed 18 civilians, and the UN churns out a strict condemnation.

The genocide in the Sudan has been going on for over 4 years and has killed 400,000 innocent men women and children, and has yet to recieve any official criticism from the UN.

Now granted these draft resolutions are completely meaningless. But if they're going to give them out there ought to be some balance. Sudan should have recieved at least 20,000 of these resolutions to be somewhat equitable.

The UN ought to at least give the sudanese one of these things
Only deaths at the hands of Israel seem to be relevent, it's in the UNs charter somewhere

lil ape: they admitted they were biased, but not against the UN, they were biased very far to the left. And the leftwing generally supports the UN.
Besides which, the article wasn't condemning the UN, it seemed to be very critical of the US and Israel. I took the facts from this article and used them in my own way, the BBC in no way criticized the UN, so I doubt their bias affected the story.

There's not doubt about it, the UN is so flawed that it's just pretty much useless. But the mainstream media which is overwhelmingly leftist keeps talking about it as if it is actually a relevant organisation which supposedly has virtue.

The BBC and mainstream media is left wing, thats news to me.

Perhaps reporting the news and not editorialising it, is considered leftist these days.

I digress, the UN is as powerful as its members. when the stronger parts refuse to give it any real mandate, and constantly hamstring it, one can hardly complain when it is unable to act.

The alternative is to have the world divided up between the US, Russia and China and let them decide what is best for the peacr of the world.

"The BBC and mainstream media is left wing, thats news to me. "

The BBC admitted it, look at the ballot number mentioned by lil_ape.

As for the rest of the media, well, they haven't come out of the closet yet, but it's pretty much obvious.

" Perhaps reporting the news and not editorialising it, is considered leftist these days."

What about generating fake photographs to support a leftwing stance on a war? Is that simply reporting the news and not editorializing?

" I digress, the UN is as powerful as its members. when the stronger parts refuse to give it any real mandate, and constantly hamstring it, one can hardly complain when it is unable to act. "

Who is stopping it from acting against the sudanese genocide?

SH- the mainstream media's left-wing bias is done quite subtley. It does for the most parts present facts, and the facts are mostly reliable. However, the subjective side commentary can be one sided at times toward the moderate left. And its presentation of facts can at times be selective.
