Voted : I call ahead of time, pick up scripts at the doctors, and drop them off at the pharmacy.
I take a controlled substance, so it can't be phoned in, but the way my doctor handles it is fairly easy.
Depending on the collective stupidity of the system on that given day. Right now, I have a doctor (slightly older than my newest pair of shoes) who had the foreisght to write me a seven-month refill on all my meds, and schedule me for another visit in January. In the past, I've had to park my butt all day in the clinic waiting for to see a doc or a NP who could write me the scrip, then tgo to the hospital pharmacy the next day for another all-day dance to fill them.
Cut out the middle man an buy'em online from India.
I get a ninety day supply thru the mail order pharmacy and they notify me when it's time to refill, they get in touch with my Doctor as long as the prescription doesn't change, I find it's so much better as I am on maintenance medicine(s). If the prescription changes I have to mail the refill slip to get the medicine started. When I went to the pharmacies I could only get a thirty day supply and it seemed I was always there...
