WOULD SOME EDUCATION AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT HAVE TURNED BUSH'S LIFE AROUND?

[+] serious ballot by cranky
ACTIVE Tue Nov 21, 06 - Sun Aug 16, 09

Rednecks are caused by poverty and ignorance, this is a well stated 'fact'.

So would a little money at the right time in Bush's life to give him hope for the future, perhaps some job training and a career, and a decent education have turned George Bush from the path he has taken and perhaps made him turn out a well-respected engineer or doctor?

BTW, "Bush attended Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, and, following in his father's footsteps, was accepted into Yale University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history in 1968. Yale is one of the most prestigious schools in the United States, called 'one of the schools of the élite'...in 1974 he obtained permission to end his six-year National Guard service obligation six months early to attend Harvard Business School." (Wikipedia)

And Bush's family is a very wealthy one, with close ties to the Saudi royal family that controls most of the oil and building contracts in saudi arabia. Also, his grandfather, Prescott Bush, made a fortune as a banker for a certain European country prior to WWII, and his father did well in the oil business. They are quite well to do.

Yes, a little money and education was all he needed
No, there must be some other factor in play here
No, An abundance of money and V.I.P. parents were the cause

LOL! Are you guys mirror images of each other? You remind me of that Star Trek episode "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield" where one guy is white on his right side and black on the other. The other one is black on the right and white on the other. They fight into oblivion. IC_tune

"Bill wrote a book at Yale. I read one." --George W. Bush, on William F. Buckley, Al Smith Dinner, New York City, Oct. 19, 2000

Education? For the right price YALE would grant a diploma to fecal matter, but that would change nothing; it's still fecal matter.
Job training? Perhaps... yes, perhaps he could have aspired to a vocation that was much easier for him to handle... maybe he could have been one of those guys who hands out tissue at adult video booths.
Engineer? You've got to be joking. George W. Bush couldn't engineer himself out of a paper sack.

Speaking of LET THAT BE YOUR LAST BATTLEFIELD, Frank Gorshin also appeared on the Ed Sullivan show the same night as the Beatles.

What I find interesting, is that the stereotype 'redneck', describing poor white Southerners and Appalachians in the early twentieth century, is exaggerated and even grotesque.

Even more interesting is they nature by which some people push the term on others. Those same people scream hell and high water about the stereotyping of blacks, Muslims, Hispanics, etc, yet they find no problem with stereotyping this sector of the population, making them the butt of jokes, insulting them at every turn.

I wonder cranky, you are so willing to insult certain types of people for lack of education, etc, yet are so adament to defend other groups for obvious flaws. Your hypocritical behavior shows strong again and again and again.

When you are born into wealth and prominence either you can be groomed to "carry on" or you can rest on "laurels" that you did not earn and in some cases "coat tail" all the way to the White House...

You left out his grad work at *Hahvahd*...

No, there's something else going on here. Terminal cluelessness, IMO.

^Cowboy Bush never refers to having gone to Harvard and Yale. He only says he went to school "back East" to distance himself from his yuppie background and to play on the prejudices of the Republican rank-and-file.

What an asshole.
