This is not all. Apparently the boy she was touching herself to was capturing the whole thing (the strip tease season and the beating which followed it).
Storm in to the room, throw the computer out of the window, tell her she has 3 seconds to put her clothes on, then sit down and calmly, but menacingly, explain how stupid what she was doing is.
Basically give her the shock of her life, WITHOUT hitting her.
^ agreed with Doctordraw. I would then take advantage of my connections with the medical/correctional community and have people talk to her or show her the realities of what can happen from these types of encounters.
^or police officers. I don't think that merely screaming at her will work, she won't understand. Sometimes, a parent talking to a 16 yr old is like talking to a brick wall.

Understandbly, I was no angel at 16... I think talking helps, yes sometimes kids can be a "brick wall" regardless of age. But communication with your children starts early, the better it is to begin with, the eaiser it will be in teenagehood.
Online, there is a lot more to worry about. But like anything, you take it away... they will find a way to get it somewhere. The best thing is to talk to them, eventually it will stick.

Yipes! Poor guy. Wouldn't have gone to violence that quickly, though. Webcam stuff like that is almost a pandemic. Talk to her instead, let her know how you feel, what you believe.
There has obviously been a level of neglect to discipline along the way.
For a parent to assume a 16 YO girl has not already begun to explore a sexual interest and set parental controls on the IM with regular monitoring of her activities is, well, irresponsible parenting.
Time to set up controls on the PC, the IM, and set times she is allowed to use the Internet.
I crack down on the rule so I don't be a grandpappy prematurely.
