COMMENTS:
I don't want a cordless phone because people will steal it from my room. I want caller ID without the need for batteries. I also want a slimline design with buttons on the receiver due to lack of space. It makes me crazy I cannot find any.
Phone service lines are to low power for the caller ID unit. Some of the standard size corded phones w/ caller ID are equiped with a rectifier and capacitor voltage doublers to power the caller ID and store entries. Slim Line model are slim line because they don't.
Get a cordless and put a thin steel cable leash on it so it can't leave the house. All it takes is a couple (short) screws
Voted : They want me to spend money on batteries
The technology to transmit power through the air has existed for close to a hundred years. You don't know about it because of some bastich named Edison, may his bones be exhumed by witch doctors.
cordless phones require external power. I want it to run from the telephone line power.
