WHICH CEASE FIRE VIOLATION IS WORSE? ISRAEL'S OR HAMAS'?

[+] ballot by cranky
ACTIVE Sun Nov 26, 06 - Fri Aug 21, 09

A few hours after the latest cease fire between Israel and Hamas, militants in Gaza fired two rockets into Israel. No deaths or casualties were reported, although one rocket damaged a house.

However, up to four days after the UN sponsored cease fire in Lebanon, Israel was still dropping thousands of cluster bombs on Lebanese civilian populations. During this post-cease fire period, Israel dropped up to a million cluster bombs, tens of thousands of which are still unexploded and which will kill innocent civilians, especially children, for years. In this four day bombing attack many people were killed, many more wounded, and millions of dollars of damage were done.

* * * * * * * *

Which do you think was the worse cease fire violation? Israel's or Hamas'?

Israel's was the worse violation
Hamas' was the worse violation
They are about equal

Well now, allow me first to say that I am shocked and appalled that Israel violated the UN Sponsored cease fire (as I roll my eyes)...Seriously though, I am not surprised that after the UN sponsored cease fire, Israel continued to drop thousands of cluter bombs. People have the natural right to defend themselves, their families and property against those who seek to rule of them, period...If you behave in a war like manner, expect for others to reciproate the same...Once again Cranky, excellent ballot.

cranky conveniently forgets several facts as they do not tell the story he wants. First, Hezbollah has never abided by the agreement. They are rearming now (read Time, AP, any news organization). This rearming began immediately breaking the treaty. Nothing in the agreement prevents Israel from stopping the rearming of Hezbollah. A key omission he makes. Millions of cluster bombs were not dropped. Perhaps millions of small bomblets as part of cluster bombs. It would take all the air forces of the world to drop a MILLION cluster bombs. Both sides continued to fight after the truce was signed until the time it was effective. Another omission and distortion by cranky. Hezbollah also started the war. Another omission. Hezbollah is widely recognized as a terrorist organization that has in fact killed innocent Americans and US troops in Lebanon as peacekeepers. Also, the recent renewal of tensions in Gaza was sparked by Hamas kidnapping an Israeli soldier. Another omission.

Cranky also deliberately ties two separate conflicts together. As if a "violation" in one means a violation in another conflict by the other side is ok.

Israel has every right to stop the rearming of Hezbollah. Why don't you mention this wanton violation by Hezbollah? After all, they are funded and armed by two enemies of the United States.

This just proves the point I made in another ballot. Users and people like cranky will post a million ballots over what they think is a violation by Israel - not necessarily true. They won't and don't give rats ass if Arab countries do it to themselves. Why aren't you criticizing Iraqis for slaughtering each other? Why don't you criticize Arab muslims who are killing black muslims? Why don't you criticize Iran for violating the NPT? After all, a major violation there (ie, a nuclear weapons program) is far more serious.

BBC, perhaps you should examine the facts first. I don't expect cranky to. Anything he can use as a potshot as his knee jerk enemies (Bush, Israel, etc), he will use. Balance or facts don't matter.

Somewhere there is a genocide of hundreds of thousands of people... In Sudan for example. What don't I see the same level of criticism from you two directed at the murderous Sudanese government? The same reason I never heard any criticism from the anti-Israel leftists about the genocides in Cambodia (1.7 to 2.0 million killed), Uganda, Rwanda (800,000), East Timor (200,000), Bosnia Herzegovina (200,000 victims), Kosovo (400,000 displaced; exact number of deaths unknown), Ethiopia, Somalia, Iraq (not by the US, by Shia and Sunni), Uzbekistan, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (1.7 million killed, others suffered rape, destruction of property). Oh I forgot, North Korea, Chechnya, genocides against aboriginal or tribal groups in Brazil, Peru, and Botswana. I could go on and on... Its only tens (and hundreds) of million people.

Soon: Chad.

^Maybe both sides like to think their defending themselves? And both need to stop.
by skylab on Sun Nov 26, 06 6:43pm [+]

First of all LSD, I know alittle of what is going on between the two combatants (the history regarding both is well documented)...Both need to cut the non sense. As for the other hot spots in the world from Africa to America the entire planet is at war...Do not mistaken for one moment that you and only you are on top of things regarding the ill events of the world. Beleive it or not, there are others who have some not all, some sound knowledge of what is going on. Now with all that said, you, Crank, myself and others can only use the information that is provided through the media and newspapers, none of us are actually seeing these events unfold before our very own eyes. So please, take in consideration that you, myself, cranky and everyone else are merely giving our/their opinions extracted from the information giving to us all, not first hand information mind you, second, third, etc...Good talking to you LSD...

You should not believe everything you
see and hear on your pro-Israeli, pro
globalist imperialist mass media
these days. Most of what you learn
from your TV is pure LIES and anti
Muslim BS, pure propaganda to make
you want to believe and support the
crimes against humanity that the
financiers and bankers and war
profiteers are committing, in the
name of their GOD... money...

Israel is occupying territory that
it shouldn't be occupying. It has
started almost all the major wars
against its muslim neighbours in
the past, and has killed thousands
of innocent civilians.

Rich Jewish Bankers are pulling the
strings of the Bush Jr government
and using the USA to destroy and
kill Muslims, based on lies and
deceptions, just so Israel can take
control of the middle east and oil
corporations can profit from future
oil sales from Iraq and soon Iran.

True. Blackcat06 suffers from delusions and susceptibility to propaganda. Can't come up with an original thought either so it is more cut and pastes and lists of websites.
