COMMENTS:
I am going with the Orca, or 'killer whale'. This ocean going mammal is known for being a voracious and intelligent predator. A pod of killer whales can easily kill a much larger whale, and 18th century Spanish sailors called the animal 'whale killer', and the name was improperly translated in English to 'killer whale', a title that, although mistranslated, is pretty much on target for the animals hunting ability. The orca is known for it's ability to use intelligent techniques for hunting, and alter those techniques for hunting alone or in packs. Despite the animals hunting abilities and primal instinct, surprisingly there has never been a human attack in the wild.
^ Interesting. I knew that about the name, but didn't know about how adept they were at it. I figure I'll pick either a bear or a lion (or large cats in general) because some form is found in many places. We've got mountain lions around here and they can be a little intimidating if you have something to protect. Luckily they normally don't stray off near heavy inhabitance here and will usually stay away if you have a dog barking. The nearest one I've seen is about a mile down the road. But he was following a deer trail that runs across my creek. They're very intelligent animals.
Bears have some awsome strenth and size though. I saw a picture a few years back from a friend of mine of some game wardens with the grizzly they'd just killed after it killed and mauled some campers. The paws looked almost a foot wide. The head and teeth were just huge.
Bears are surprisingly fast, and intelligent and strong.
Voted : Elephant
Hippoes Bears and tigers - I love em all! I'm going for the underdog though - The Elephant!
Voted : humans
Original Man was a "beast", and may still be so regarded by some.. Man is certainly "King of the Beasts" of Earth, for look at all he has done and controls.. Among wild beasts though, each part of the world has its own "kind of the beasts" no doubt..
Look once how farly flung they be, all over the globe... And they manipulate us humans in a remarkable way.. Tame, but kings of beasts in the hearts of man and womankind...
Voted : crocodile
I think the crocodile is "King of Beasts" because, first of all, they have the most jaw strenth of any animal. I,ve also seen a crocodile kill a lion.
