A 14 year old boy from Cairns Australia is recieving death threats after killing and disposing of a record 490Kg (1091 pd.) Black Marlin. He was fishing the Great Barrier reef and brought the fish to the dock with his father to document the record. The fish was then towed back out to the reef and given to the sharks.
The boy is now getting death threats from "environmentally conscious" individuals one of whom said the boy should be fed to the sharks.
What do you think.

He could've photographed and released it.
At least he gave it back to the sea.
He could have fed a lot of poor people with that one fish.
Leave him alone, he's just a kid gone fishing.
He's a butcher - hang him!
The tree huggers threatening him are nuts.
There are few big fish left, don't kill more.

It's ridiculous to threaten a 14 year old kid like that. It's that kind of radical attitudes that makes environmentalists lose their credibility.
However i see no reason why the Marlin had to be killed. As far as i know fishers usually return them to the sea (in good conditions, not to be eaten by sharks). And the kid's father should have taught him that!

It's a freaking FISH, big deal. Some people need to grow up. Environmentalists are ridiculous sometimes. It's like they need an adult sized pacifier and some Depends undergarments.

People threatening him over fish is nuts. I try and eat veg for health reason, i like organic meat, farm raised eggs...but him killing the fish, even though it was a bad example, isn't THAT big of a deal...they're fish...people eat fish all day. When people go fishing they are killing fish, do we kill everyone for killing a fish?

Now i'm craving fish :o
