If the FDA (established in 1906) had never come into existence, and the so-called "free market" was used to decide which drugs and food products were safe for human consumption, would more, or fewer people have died in the that 100 year time span from toxic and poisonous products?

Knowing what I do about the drug comapnies, I doubt that half of us in this post would be living without the FDA.

A no-brainer. Money hungry companies would put ANYTHING in consumanble products with no sense of responsibility.
