ethics : WHICH WOULD YOU TRUST THE BEAR OR THE HUMAN?

In nature from what I know of nature, MOST species know their enemies, and they try to avoid, but with humans we have no clue, you could be caring and loving one day and the next go on a killing spree, we have no idea what goes through the minds of our fellow men or women, we can hide sickening thoughts, live “Normal” lives while hiding the desire to murder and some times carry out that desire.

If you were standing in the wilderness with A Pot of Gold, and on one side of you a bear and on the other a stranger with a gun, which would you trust not to kill you?

I think I would trust the bear.

The bear, since they don't eat people very ofen, only when they're really hungry. But I'd stand very still, just to be on the safe side.

C'mon man, The bear is a wild animal, and a big, fast, dangerous one at that. Even if it wasnt hungry its not going to run away from you is it? It will protect itself at the expense of your life.

Sometimes, this idea of the noble savage/beast can get a bit silly. Mankind isnt ALL bad, contrary to what you see on the news.

The stranger. If he's hungry for the gold, then I can at least try to talk and reason with him. If the bear is hungry, talking isn't going to do much good...

Also, the stranger is the only one with the means to defend either of us from the bear. So I have to at least put a little trust in him.

Any bear, even a small black bear can easily leave you mortally wounded, if not left for dead. Their basic kill tactic is to get you prone and then bite on your skull...no thanks...And they can RUN boy, AND climb trees, FAST.
