You know how glitches occur on this site sometimes? Well, some time ago I was entering a ballot choice when a glitch happened, which entered my part-completed option twice.

I thought no more about this, until I recently received -1 karma from another user (not someone I'd had any dealings with before), along with the comment "accidental error".

The question is: if you'd realised that an error was a genuine mistake, would you have gone out of your way to award it negative karma, or would you have just ignored it?

Please note: the issue here is not about karma - it's about whether or not the genuine mistake should have been ignored or not.

Correction: the message that came with the -1 karma was "Accidental duplicate".

NB it was clearly a glitch since the site is set up so that duplicate ballot options cannot be submitted.

I received this negative karma rating on Friday. This is a guest ballot and there is no title to this ballot or date. I honestly don't remember submitting this guest user ballot.

I wonder why "this person" feels that they are personally responsible for dishing out (rather patronising) penalty karma for administrative errors?

Why the hell is this person trippin so much over duplicates? This is a website, it's not friggin Gallup. Certainly not worthy of negative karma, which is so frequently interpreted as the ultimate "f*ck you." This person never did it to me but I still find it ridiculous that (s)he's going around doing this so much.

Even if it wasn't an error, why neg Karma? It's ridiculus if you ask me.

Some people are not good spellers, other not good punctuating, people make mistakes. I don't see why it's such a big deal that this person is a critic about everything.
