fight untrue rumors. Yet some people have no problem spreading
them.

Sometimes if I hear a rumor, I may work it privately to see what the person rumored about says.
But if I don't see the evidence I ignore it and give the person the benefit of the doubt.
Some people just spread rumors to be malicious because they don't like the person and I won't be a weapon on their behalf.
