Some of them are. I think the problem here is the urban legend that gays are more likely to molest than others, which seems to be based on prejudice.
The problem comes when extremists try to make it appear that pedophiles who like boys (as opposed to those that like girls) represent all homosexual men.
That is no more true than all girl-oriented pedophiles representing all heterosexuals.

I guess technically they would be. Homosexual simply means being attracted to members of your same gender, it doesn't specify age.
Of course I usually put all pedophiles, regardless of the gender of their victim, in a seperate class.

Mr_Susan - Although you were asking herzog, I will give my opinion. No, that is probably just bisexuality. To like both genders, but to have specific preferences for each, is still bisexual. For example, being attracted to both men and women but being sepcifically attracted to Asian women, and then being specifically attracted to caucasian men. Your example is similar- being attracted to both genders- specifically for females of mature age, and males of a younger age. The fact that there is a specific preference for each gender, does not deter from the fact that both genders are hypothetically found to be attractive to this hypothetical person, and therefore they are bisexual.
I don't think I thought of them as being homosexual or heterosexual, when I hear of a girl being molested by a man, I don't think, oh, he's straight, he 's a pervert, he's a pedophile, rather it's with a little boy or little girl

Obviously if he chose males he is gay, and probably not just bi but gay because if he was bi (for the sake of being humiliated by a country that still can't understand that gay pople do exist if caught) he wouldn't want to be burdened by that and he'd either not molest at all or he'd molest the little girls...no matter how old the victim he is still gay.
Look at John Wayne Gacy, he raped boys, one as young as 14 and he was concidered homosexual when he was actually married but did not have sex with her after he found out his preference was male.

I don't agree, I think pedophiles are sexual predators, like rapists...in this case the gender preference doesn't matter because they're sexually mature and they have power over the sexually immature.
It's not like two consenting adults are having sex and both are getting enjoyment. It's exploitation.

They're sexual predators but there are adult sexual predators too, for instance rapists. Rapists and child molesters choose there gender, usually, unless they are bi, like for instance serial killer Henry lee lucas and Otis Toole, if you know what i mean...
Straight pedophiles go after little girls...at least that's what i read.

If you want to have sex with members of the your sex, then you are interested in the same-sex. That makes you bi if you like the opposite sex, and homosexual if you are attracted to the same sex exclusively.

Some are, some aren't. I don't think the two issues are mutually exclusive or inclusive. Certainly they do possess a certain--albeit mentally ill, dangerous, and twisted--obsession with the same sex. Most, imo, have been traumatized and not received proper psychological treatment for sexual abuse themselves. That being stated, as a society we must deal very severely with such perpetrators, ie. it must never be tolerated!

On the one hand we have 'abuse'. And then there's 'molest'. And, 'sexual imposition'. Also, 'sexual battery'. 'Corruption of a minor'. I can't say that I know the exact definitions or differences between the various terms..

Isn't 'boy' meaning a youngster or pre-pubescent, a lot different from 'boy' meaning 'pubescent' or teenager or 'mature'?
The man in question would probably be classified as 'pederast' and 'homosexual', but pederast the matter of legal concern?
