Hallmark would be pleased though.
We had 'confirmation' when I was a Catholic, so there is an equivalent.
A Bar Mitzvah or Bat Mitzvah (for girls) is a serious occasion meant to mark the time when a Jewish child becomes an adult in the eyes of Jewish law and tradition. Confirmation in the Catholic tradition is a little like this, but without much of the responsibility. A bar/bat mitzvah is generally expected to be able to lead a service, read from the Torah (in Hebrew) and many other things. Bar/Bat Mitzvah is tradition going back thousands of years. It might be a good idea for non-Jewish people to do this if for no other reason than learning to take full responsibility for their actions at age 13. I don't see it happening. While the "party" is certainly part of it, preparation for the event takes years.
Bah Humbug Mitzvah!
