Voted : He's talking ENGLISH.
- you have trouble comprehending him? The man's crystal clear!
^ sorry. have a touch of brain damage. so want to clarify it for me?
Voted : An' it please Your Lordship...
Run yer *own* bleedin' country, an' leave us our own.
I wish he'd been this vocal when Mister Blair leapt into line behind Miter Bush back in '02. As for global warming posing a threat, today is 18 December 2006, the time is *:06 pm EST, and the temp in Atlanta is 71 degrees F. What's wrong with this picture?
I'm also gonna Google this fine gent, to see where his interests may lie.
Voted : no they should not resign, but yes, global warming is a threat
It sounds like overheated drama, but global warming is occuring. They should find out more about what the specific reason is. Whether oil companies fund scientists or not doesn't matter too much, since their objectivity and credibility would be too much in doubt to count for much. So who cares, anyhow?
i just think he could have said what he said in a more direct way. i mean read those quotes -- it's over-blown rhetoric and i keep wondering who he is trying to impress. kiss applies here -- keep it simple stupid.
Voted : i don't know wtf this guy said, but no, global warming is not a threat
How did the ice age end when there were no factories or cars?
Voted : no they should not resign, but yes, global warming is a threat
This guy seems to be mad for the right reason, and the senators were out of their places for asking Exxon to stop funding the dissenting scientists (although His Almighty Lordship was out of *his* place in challenging them to step down... but then, maybe I'm out of *my* place by telling them where their places are... this is getting confusing O.o). A voice of dissent is needed, IMO, on all but the most obvious of issues. Although, being scientists who are funded by Exxon, I'm probably not going to put much stock in most of what they say.
Voted : An' it please Your Lordship...
They should really f*ck off and run their own damn country.
I guess the polar ice melting is just an optical illusion and the rising sea levels are figments of the imagination
Voted : no they should not resign, but yes, global warming is a threat
what's the point in assuming that global warming is NOT a threat? to protect our eco-egos?
Voted : They should withdraw their comments, the science about this should be balanced
I understood every word. I dont thnk that whether he agrees or not was the point. But in response to your Q, he did not say what he believed. It is not 'a climate change denial campaign'. That is the phrase given to it by the people who think the sceptics should be stopped. It is a biased phrase designed to diminish the repsectability of those scientists. Whether you & me agree with the skeptics is irrelevant, the skeptics should be allowed and encouraged to investigate possible innacuracies in the theories. Thats the way science works.
Also - the continual slurs that occur whilst talking about global warming are a problem. How can you give a view on something, when it is not entirely clear exactly what the question is. Even this british guy appears to have used confusing phrases, which make it difficult to know exactly which part of the debate he's talking about There are very big differences in the following. Does global warming happen - Yes Does man cause global warming - No Does man possibly cause an increase in global warming rates - Perhaps - up for debate. Would global warming have disastrous effects? - Perhaps, up for debate
I know some peolpe on both sides will dissagree with the last two - but the first two are correct. So how can we answer the question, Is global warming happening, when of course it is. And also - of course there are potential disasterous effects of a warming climate. Do we increase the rate of temp increase? - thats a different matter - there are many good arguments on both sides
thanks mr. susan for helping to clear it up. clear, concise and easy to follow. bravo!
