Voted : Yes
Europe is indeed becoming too dependent on Russia for its energy resources supplies- such as oil. This gives Russia diplomatic leverage at times over European countries, which is not good.

Oh well... I guess its better than being too dependent on the Middle East. However, Europe should increasingly be looking at alternative ways to produce energy.

and like you pointed out is not good a good thing. But some countries are already importing gas from Algeria and Libya.

Yes, and the Russians will use that influence to control and dominate Europe if they can.

At least being dependent on the Middle East means you have several countries you are buying from, that don't have a particular political agenda, and aren't next door. Although, Saudi Arabia does a pretty good job of making Bush and Cheney grovel and crawl at a long distance.
