^that region of the "world" I meant to say up there
Voted : No soup for Kuwait
We just wouldn't be as nice to the Saudis. I don't think Israel has that much oil, to my knowledge. And their would still be religious differences and other problems. Getting rid of the need for oil would be nice for us, but other problems would remain.
^ But we wouldnt' be so involved in the middle east without oil, in my opinion ,a lot of the hate some have toward the west and usa in particular comes from our involvement , The shah of Iran as an example, no need for troops in Saudi Arabia or no gulf war or war going on now in Iraq, if we wern't dependent on their oil. If no oil, I don't think we would have helped Kuwait, or if Saddam would even had bothered with Kuwait if oil wasn't a factor, although he may had for land, but I dont think the USA would have care
I don't mean oil factor with Israel, that probably would still be a problem, but in Jordan for example, before war in Iraq USA was favorite country of young Jordanians, now it's the least according to polls, so our support for Israel didn't' matter that much to them apparently
^If oil were that important to politics, wouldn't we prefer oil rich Arab countries to Israel? I don't think oil explains all our problems, only some of them. Also, we didn't save Kosovo because of their oil, so who's to say whether that made a difference with Kuwait?
We are, we are sucking up to oil rich countries, those who will let us, as long as those countries stil ship oil we are satisfied, it's when the oil is in jeopardy that we get involved. You are right about Kosovo, but equally worse things going on around the world we didn't and still aren't going to war for.
Also without oil money, Saddam may not have been able to go to war with Iran or Kuwait, you could be correct skylab, these are just my thoughts.
Voted : All of the above
Well Iraq probably wouldn't exist.
