In 2000, the last year for current records, there were 330,000 interracial marriages between Black and White. The statistics were 210,000 Black husband/White wife; 120,000 were Black wife/White husband. The figure rose to approximately 31% of interracial marriages being Black wives/White husbands. There’s been a constant increase of Black women crossing the color line, from approximately 8.3% to 22%, to 31% of Black and White couples within 45 years. Many Black women are going to college and educational institutes of higher learning in ever-increasing numbers, which in decades gone by were the elite place to meet future husbands. Future doctors, scientists, engineers, chemists, politicians, professors, lawyers, etc., were the pool of brilliant minds from which they picked. While the matriculation rate of the Black female rises the college enrollment of the Black male is on a constant decline. Black females outnumber Black males on college campuses on an average of three-to-one. Therefore if there’s 3,000 Black females on campus and 1,000 Black males. okay, now im black my fiancy is white and whenever we go out black guys always glare at us. for me this is unexspected because I thought that sense there are alot of black males who dont mind going with white women they would be open minded. instead my boyfriend constantly gets constantly called a "cracker" or "hunky" and I am yelled at for "droping my color" or acting white. so I have a question. WHY RACE MATTERS SOOO MUCH?
