One of the reasons given for keeping U.S. troops in Iraq is that pulling them out would make make Bush look bad. The language has usually been couched in eupemisms, but the message is always there: To leave Iraq now would make it look like Bush lost the war in Iraq and humiliate him.

Do you think keeping the troops in Iraq to prevent Bush from losing face is a good enough reason to keep them there?

That is until you can start to think 2 steps ahead rather than right now here today.
We set up the Iraq/Afghanistan gauntlet just in time to stop a dirt poor Russia from making a desperate move.
After all those Saudi Shieks have been asking for it by not even having a miltary to guard that big sand barrel full of crude.

A fatigued military on an unclear mission (police versus soldier) is a bad strategy in the event they are needed elsewhere...very poor planning went into this venture...
