SHOULD FORMERLY RECOGNIZED HEADS OF COUNTRIES BE EXECUTED...

[+] serious ballot by thesoothsayer
created Tue Dec 26, 06

...if they are found to be complicite in the deaths or murders of innocent people whether they are fellow Countrymen or foreigners ? Does it matter if said individuals are trying to wrest power by force ? Does it matter if they are deposed by outside forces or are still in power ? I ask these questions because of the decision to execute Sadam although he was internationally recognized as the Leader of Iraq and as such, executive privileges seems to rule out the death penalty in many cases in the pass...I have no sympathy for Mr Hussein, just wish to have you opinions on this subject and not your feeling of what he deserves...(vengeance or revenge)

Recognized Leaders should be executed if complicite
Recognized leaders should not be executed if complicite
Deposed leaders only
Any leader that' s judged to be guilty
Sadaam will be executed because that is what the U.S. Government dictates...
Established International Law should be followed
Yes. Charles Taylor next!

COMMENTS:
Saddam deserves death, although it would be better to abolish the death penalty, IMO, because of the human error factor. As for having a death penalty with no human error for any extended period of time, I'm sure many people want to believe it's possible, but I don't.

I, for one, hope Saddam dies tomorrow.

Voted : Sadaam will be executed because that is what the U.S. Government dictates...
Although others will say, no, the majority of the world's people would like to see him executed, that is BS...However, I am certain that his victim's family and many others will certainly like to see him gone...

Lets not be fooled, his execution has the U.S. Gov (G W BU_ _SH_ _) written all over it...

Now, there are those (many people believe and some have expressed this belief and most importantly, can back it up), who believe that the U.S. Government and Israel have committed crimes against humanity. However, I will venture to say that, the heads of both Governments will not find themselves in a hangman's noose as Sadaam will eventually find his own shortly...

Should Sadaam be executed? I do not believe in execution, when man gets in the business of deciding who should live and who should die, man leaves itself open for self destruction...

People continue to quote the bible steadily regarding this matter, justifying being judge, jury and executioner, dismissing Commandment-VI (many of these individuals profess to being Christians 017)altogether, go figure...

Now, I will put away my Liberal hat (Yes, I wear my Liberalism like a badge of honor) and say simply this, if you are going to have the death penalty, execute everyone who commits the same crime without regards to race, gender, political/religion affiliation, sexal orientation, socio economic/educational background and I'm there with ya on the death penalty path...

However, until then, those who make the decision who shall live and who shall die, as one of my idols would put it - George Carlin, "Blow it out your arses." Oh yes, the sweet sounds of George telling it like it is...

Excellent Ballot by the way 023

Voted : Established International Law should be followed
There is established international law and precedent for this situation. This is especially true for the crime of genocide or other crimes against humanity. The cases can either be tried in the country where they were committed or at another location determined by the International Criminal Court. (I can provide links and more info if you like)

Well BBC, I notice how you always love to bash/hate America (your own country) and Israel. So I did a little search and found the following:
1. Massive genocide in Sudan
2. Genocidal massacres in Ethiopia, Somalia, Democratic Republic of the Congo and massacres in Uganda.
3. Genocide in North Korea
4. Massive Human Rights violations including torture and more in Egypt, Syria, Iran, China, Cuba, Côte d’Ivoire, Zimbabwe, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Burma, Nepal, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Hamas and Fatah (against each other and Israel), Uzbekistan, Belarus, Eritrea, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Vietnam, Angola, Cameroon, Russia... well you get the point.
5. The use of children as soldiers in Angola, Colombia, Lebanon, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Sudan and Uganda.

Sorry to go off topic on your ballot soothsayer but it will irks me when uneducated and uninformed hate America leftists like BBC spout their twaddle. They shame liberalism. If JFK were alive today he would be appalled at them.

Hey

I am from the Middle East, and I really dislike this man

I never support the death penalty, but this man wiped out entire groups of people, and his torture jails are infamous, and he was so brutal, just check videos on youtube how his guards used to beat prisoners with sticks and canes and kick them repeatedly with their boots just for fun..

He gassed many villages,killed thousands,his officials raped women;

Really, this man has no heart!

I think his people must decide his fate..
