Voted : Completely right!
I oppose mixing politcs with religion as a matter of principle. It was (still is in some cases) common place for the church to play a central role in politcs in S. America and the outcome of it was poverty, nepotism and populism. Lugo will only manage to corrupt his "capital of piousness" by running for office. He'd do better if he remained apolitical and helping those in need (and Paraguay being the 2nd poorest country in S. America certanly has many falling under that category...)
^It's surprising that he's running for the left though. Clerics are usually hardcore conservatives around those parts of the globe.

If he's no longer a bishop, people should be allowed to vote for who they want.
Oops, I voted wrong.
Voted : Bang out of order!

On point, the operative word that no one at the Vatican managed to notice is "retired". Meaning no longer employed by, therefore not required to follow the dictates thereof.
^He's a bishop, not a mechanic. The man took sacred vows. It's like in the mafia, once you're in, you're never getting out.
^not with the secrets he might know about the vatican! They are indeed like the mafia
