You know, the ads about ringtones and DVDs and crap like that. in the side column. They usually ask you for your email which signs you up on a "suckers" list, resulting in a daily assault of tons and tons of junkmail. The fact that websites still have them shows that there are a lot of really stupid people left clicking on these.

They fooled me but I'm stupid.
Yes, there are lots of stupid people out there
No, they're just leftovers from a time when people didn't know as much about the net.
The products on those ads are the greatest thing since sliced bread!

They usually incorporate whatever's on the page into the ads. Like when I'm on a page about an obscure psychedelic band called Bubble Puppy, they say "Get Bubble Puppy ringtones now!" Yeah, I'll bet lol!

I've wondered this too lol. I guess there's still a fair number of people who click them, seeing as they would be sort of useless if no one did. But I'm just guessing.

Thanks to those ads, I've now lost 10 pounds a week since last June, have more ringtones than I know what to do with, can read your mind thanks to a Psychic Pill, and have learned of top-secret government UFO coverups that only the president knows about!

And I make 50 cents a week working from home! Independence baby! Oh yeah!
