A properly functioning media would be a prime force in preventing Bush and his neocon cronies from destroying everything that makes the U.S. great. Unfortunately, we don't have one of those, anymore, just the conservative corporate media, that bends down low for the Republicans.
Although to answer the ballot: Neither is a threat to American survival. Islamo-fascism is a myth (most conservatives have even stopped using the term) and the American media is impotent and whorish.
