None of this surprises me about Oprah. Every tragic situation that she can use and exploit for the popularity of her show and herself she will use.

These days alot of people seem to forget that the entire world doesn't necessarily have a right to the most intimate details of your private life. And we're becoming a culture of voyeurs, which is also worrying.

Yes Oprah has exploited the young man but in my eyes the parents are the true villians because they are suppose to protect their child from harm but instead they are abusing him through the media.

All the criticism should be aimed at the parents. Oprah and all other interviewers are going to go for that interview, she did not hold a gun to anyone's head and forced that interview. Whether you like her or not, the parents are the ones who accepted not only the Oprah's interview, but also all other interviews.
The alleged exploitation process can not take place by Oprah without the Ok from the parents...Who appears to be pimping their son since he returned home...

Thank you, I think the parents should close their doors and windows to the media and get there son into therapy as quickly as possible...
No, I don't think Oprah and the other members of the media should be interviewing this kid...Oprah especially should know better with all that she claims she has endured...(this is not a swipe at Oprah, however, she could at least offer to pay for the therapy this young man will need rather than going for the interview - Who knows, she may have offered to do so).

I hate Oprah 'I'm a ratings whore' Winfrey, she exlpoited Shawn on national tv just for the ratings for her stupid joke of a show, instead of trying to find out the disgusting events that went on with him the only thing anyone should focus on now is his safety and well being and getting him the proper help that he needs for his future and not focus on his past.The world may want to know but they don't deserve to know what went on with him or anyother person/child who has been exploited.
