CI: You seem to believe that the situation can be addressed by troops. It can't. It is already a bad situation and it is going to get worse anyway. The only question will be "Will our troops be getting caught in the middle." We. are. not. fighting. terrorists. Who do you think we ARE fighting?!? Sunni and Shia civil war skirmishes. Who are these Sunni & Shia? Many are the same damned ones we are training and equipping.
Voted : Brace ourselves for large scale terror attacks @ home
and elsewhere.
Guest User That's not what I am suggesting. What I am suggesting is that there must be steps taken before and after troops are withdrawn. What are they? Not having a well laid out plan and hoping for the best is how America got in the mess to begin with. Simply attacking someones plan isn't planning either. There isn't a solution to the situation. There a simply bad or worse options. Troop withdrawl is the only option that will end this in the forseeable future. But that may cause other problems. What steps can be taken to lessen those chances. I think it should be discussed in great detail.
There are no 'good' options. We're left with 'what will result in the least damage.' This makes the Republicans' repeated attempts to position "We can't leave until we win" to be incredibly divorced from reality or unbelievably disengenuous.
Guest User. Can you offer any steps? Or are you saying pull out and cross your fingers?
