Muhammeds on the right
Yeah ... good point. After all, South Park is a universally respected Communication vehicle ... not like some piddly little national newspaper.
Show a image of Muhammad and parts of the Muslim world rages. Blow up the Golden Mosque in Iraq and intern kill innocent people and only select Iraqis rage. It's BS but that's religion for you.
Ahhh... the Super Best Friends! Fighting to save the world from the evil clutches of David Blaine. Twaa... Here's something else alot of people might not know. Muhammed has also been in episodes since the 'Family Guy' episode. If you look very closely at the beginning of the episodes during the introductory music, he's there in the group picture that shows all of the characters. He's in front of Satan and to the left and behind Mr. Mackey. You can hardly see him, but he's there and has been since the Super Best Friends episode I believe.

Good call. That episode aired before 9/11. Look at that depiction of Joseph Smith. If I were Mormon, I'd sure be pissed.

I don't even know why I have to say this, but Islam, like every other religion, is not monolithic in its interpretation. It's ridiculously oversimplified, thoughtless, and inaccurate to regard it that way. Islam is not Muhammadanism. The visual or physical depiction of Muhammad is not universally seen as idolatry. To some, any visual representation of Muhammad is tremendously offensive. To others, the very creation of images or objects which depict ANYTHING which might conflict with total devotion to God is reprehensible. To others, pictures or objects of Muhammad are acceptable if they depict him in a positive way. To others, representations are generally acceptable. The point is there is no religious tenet in Islam which forbids the visual depiction of Muhammad, so the reaction such a depiction provokes is a function of an individual's point of view. And as such, the range of reactions is as diverse as all of the groups of people in all of the sub-sects in all of the sects of Islam. Nevertheless, Muhammad is the most sacred person in Islam because he was the physical mouthpiece for God and the author of the Koran. The main reason why the cartoons were so offensive to Muslims is not Islam. There are many reasons, but the central reason is because it depicted the holiest person in Islam, as a terrorist. Here is probably the most provocative image from the lot: This is a quote I agree with: "No part of the world is more hopelessly and systematically and stubbornly misunderstood by us than that complex of religion, culture and geography known as Islam." (1979) Add to this mass psychology and current events, and the above image represents how many people tend to think about Islam. And I'm not arguing in favor of censorship.
^ To be fair, I dont know any other religion that deinitively, openly and quite clearly advocates death or a 100 lashings to those found to be homosexual or adulterous. Those things are open to interpretation, you either follow them or you dont. If you dont follow them, you arent following the Koran correctly. Thus I would say that those who dont follow such doctrine are, in fact, not following the quite clear word of their prophet, and as such are worse Muslims. Some words are too clear spoken to be called "misinterpreted".
*ARENT open to interpretation
Thats not to say all Muslims are bad people, but it IS to say that the doctine of Islam is outdated, and often barbaric, and doesnt really fit into the modern world. To be a good Muslim means to be a bad Muslim, if you get my drift.

Don't really watch the show.
Judaism "advocates" capital punishment for homosexuality. However, principle and practice are not the same thing. Islamic law also allows execution for homosexuality, but the literal interpretation of the law requires 4 unimpeachable witnesses to the act of penetration. However, looking at the bigger picture: Yes -- it is important to understand that Islam is certainly the most expansive of the Abrahamic religions, and possibly all religions. What I mean by "expansive" is that it comprises not only spirituality but incorporates comprehensive, specific social teachings regarding such things as economics, the status of women, race relations, and the use of force. A Western mindset might be surprised and unaccepting to learn the Arab world was actually in worse shape overall on these and other fronts prior to the foundation of Islam. (I can explain that further if necessary.) I agree there are ways Islam does not fit into the "modern" world, just like there are ways the modern world does not fit in with Islam. The main reasons I can think of are the extensive social doctrines of Islam I mentioned, which are principally incompatible with the concept of the separation of religion and the State. But once again, barbarism is a human characteristic. Throughout history, religion has been used to justify the most morally reprehensible behavior people are capable of. (Who invented the Rack?) We like to delude ourselves into thinking technology and modern systems of social organization (government) have somehow endowed us with an overarching superiority to the "primitive world". The modern world is better, and primitive people are merely resistant to change and improvement. We have every right to make it our business to guide them towards the right path. - Now, there are obviously cases to be made that modernization has improved things from a humanitarian standpoint. But advancement in military technology is not one of them. Are we less barbaric if we use a rifle instead of a sword? A smart-bomb instead of an IED? A nuclear weapon instead of ground troops? Of course we are, because pressing a button is not the same thing as slitting a throat. Of course we are, because our motivations are justified. Of course we are, because my country is a peace-loving democracy and political extremism is always a sanitized affair.

Now that Muslims are aware stupid douche nozzle lefties will sympathize with their every grievance expect Muslims to cry like little school cunts about everything and anything. Pay attention to what I'm saying because this is how the medieval throwbacks will attempt to take over Europe and the United States, they will use our understanding and tolerant nature to kill us. Have a nice day fuckos : )
