I hate making ballots after spending a lot of time working on a great ballot and have it fail for some stupid reason when I submit it.

This has happened to me a couple times and when I hit the back button, the ballot page is reset and the ballot is gone. Gone I say. That really ticks me off.

Because it was a several long paragraphs in length it's impossible to re-create, and I don't want to spend another hour or two working it out. So now *The Greatest Ballot Never Created* is lost forever.

I know this has happened to you before and I want to know how to preserve the original ballot in case the ballot fails to submit? Can a maintainer recover it? Other sites store the information in a cache so when I hit the back button, the texted I enter is still on the form and can be submitted again. Why can't this site do that?

Any recommendations or advice on this peeps?

Maybe if you highlight and copy the text you've entered into a word document and if you lose it you can copy it from the word document back onto the ballot creation page.

I make my ballots and choices and then email them to myself first.

I copy my ballot description and if for some reason won't go through I just paste.

If I'm working on a long ballot that I've put research and time into, such as my Stephen Hawkings ping pong ballot, I'll make it first in Word or notepad then transfer it over, that way I don't lose any of my information.

Great Idea Jappy, thanks. I also just realized that if I right click on the submit button and select *Open in a new window* I retain the ballot page!
