Voted : Same reason she was in the spotlight when she was alive
It's our celebrity-oriented culture.
Aaawwww. I suppose the sheep need fed. Herd becoming restless. Stampede eminate. Quick, distract the sheep with morose incident. Plecebo working. Good job sheepherd Media. We can rest peaceful one more night! Just fluff to stuff our pillows with. (Yawn)
Because the average citizen is pathetic enough to care. The media give people what they want after all.

Voted : It is the train wreck of her life thing
Humans are genuinely interested in tragic lives. It has always been entertainment from the Roman Empire to Shakespeare, face it we *crave* tragedy above all other stories.

She was made a product. I mean she probably wasn't an idiot and I'm sure she was sweet.. I never knew much about her or cared, but now she makes me sad :(
